From social media treadmill to sustainable marketing

Client Profile…

Name:
Rosy Skilton

Role:
Dog Trainer and Behaviourist

Business:
Perfectly Canine

Context

When Rosy first started working with me, she was still in the early stages of business and feeling understandably overwhelmed by the whole marketing side of things.

She’d launched her business, but wasn’t getting the response she’d hoped for and felt a bit lost as to what to do next. Like many people in the industry, she had started to assume that the only way to bring in clients was by constantly showing up on social media... posting more, pushing harder and hoping something would eventually click.

At the same time, she was also doubting her pricing, questioning the structure of her services and second-guessing her own value as a trainer… despite being brilliant!

In other words... plenty of potential, but not yet enough clarity, confidence or traction.

Working together

Rosy signed up for support through my 1:1 coaching programme, Unleash Your Potential, to help her build a business that felt more strategic, more sustainable and more aligned with the kind of clients she actually wanted to attract.

From the start, it was clear that what Rosy needed was a better plan... one that would help her communicate her value more clearly, attract the right people and grow the business without ending up stuck on the social media treadmill.

Together, we worked on:

  • refining her services so they felt clearer and better structured

  • strengthening her pricing strategy and building confidence around it

  • clarifying her USP so she could better communicate what made her different

  • improving her messaging so it spoke more directly to the right clients

  • putting more sustainable marketing strategies in place, beyond just social media

A website audit is included as part of the 1:1 process. This helped highlight opportunities to strengthen what was already there and make sure her website was working harder for the business. So she also got to work on implementing those suggestions.

Step by step, things started to click into place. Rosy became clearer on how to market herself without the cringe, more confident in the value of what she offers and much better equipped to keep building momentum in a way that felt manageable.

Outcome

Since working together, Rosy has seen some real shift in both herself and her business.

She shared that her confidence has grown massively. Instead of feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to start, she now has a much clearer sense of direction... along with the tools and strategies to keep moving forward.

A key part of that was getting clearer on what makes her special and how to communicate it. That clarity has helped Rosy market herself more effectively, speak more confidently to the right people and attract enquiries from clients who are a better fit for the work she most wants to do.

Perhaps most importantly, she’s no longer relying on social media alone to generate enquiries. She now has sustainable marketing strategies in place that don’t require her to spend hours creating content… and those strategies are working.

Rosy told me that she’s now getting more and more enquiries... from the kind of clients she actually wants to work with. As a result, she’s had her highest-income months since launching the business, which has given her a huge boost in confidence and made the business feel far more viable in the longer term.

Here’s what she said:

“Since working with Gretta my confidence in myself and my business has grown massively. When I first started out I felt very overwhelmed and had a lot of doubts about my pricing, the structure of the services I was offering and even my own value as a trainer. But now I'm getting more and more enquiries and bookings from the kind of clients I want to work with.”

When reflecting on marketing her business, Rosy shared:

“When I first began working with Gretta I had no idea where to start with marketing my business. I was clueless about website SEO, and thought the only way to get the word out about me and bring in clients was by hammering the socials.

Now I have sustainable marketing strategies in place that don't require me to spend hours creating social media content and it's thanks to these strategies that I recently achieved my highest income month since starting the business.”

And, while she’s still building towards her bigger financial goals, she now feels confident that she has the right tools, the right foundations and the right momentum to keep going.

Rosy was an absolute pleasure to support... thoughtful, open and really willing to learn and implement. Her story is such a lovely example of what can happen when marketing starts to feel clearer, more sustainable and much less like a performance.
