I now attract more committed clients... and feel confident saying no to the wrong ones

Context
When Anthony first got in touch, he wasn’t struggling to get clients... but he was struggling to get the right ones.
He already had a good reputation, received plenty of recommendations from past clients and had helped a lot of dogs make real progress... including supporting owners in uncovering underlying pain and medical issues that might otherwise have been missed. He had every reason to feel proud of what he’d built over the previous six years.
But despite all that, things still felt frustrating.
Too many of the clients coming in weren’t fully committed, weren’t the right fit for the way he worked or were more focused on quick obedience fixes than their dogs’ wider wellbeing. That meant difficult conversations, slower progress and a lot more stress than there needed to be.
At the same time, Anthony had started to feel a bit stuck in the business itself. He was getting bored of offering the same services for the same kinds of problems, knew he wanted to create something more purposeful and wellbeing-focused, and wanted a clearer plan for how to evolve the business without compromising his ethics.
In short... he didn’t need more clients. He needed a better business model, clearer messaging and more confidence in where he was heading.
Working together
Anthony signed up for support through my coaching/ mentoring programme, Unleash Your Potential, to help him create a business that felt clearer, more organised and better aligned with the kind of work he most wanted to do.
Together, we focused on helping him step back, untangle what wasn’t working and create a more intentional direction for the business.
That included:
clarifying the kinds of clients he most wanted to work with
refining his messaging so it better attracted committed, values-aligned owners
shaping clearer programmes and services around the dogs and situations he most wanted to help with
creating a stronger pathway forward for the business as a whole
automating more of the backend to reduce workload and improve organisation
building confidence around boundaries, visibility and saying no when something wasn’t the right fit
As Anthony put it, one of the biggest shifts was moving from feeling lost to feeling like he finally knew what he was working towards.
Alongside the strategy itself, he also made great use of the structure and systems inside the programme... not only implementing changes in his own business, but taking inspiration from the organisation and processes to improve how his business operated behind the scenes too.
Outcome
Since working together, Anthony has seen a big shift in the quality of the clients he attracts and in how the business feels to run.
He shared that he’s now attracting better-fit, more committed clients.
A huge part of that has been getting clearer on his services and his message. Rather than trying to be everything to everyone, Anthony now has clearer programmes and services for the specific dogs and situations he most wants to work with.
That clarity is helping the right people recognise themselves more quickly... and helping Anthony feel much more confident about who he does and doesn’t want to take on.
On top of that, he’s automated much more of the business, which has helped reduce workload and create a more organised, streamlined way of working.
