Context
Julie is an experienced, highly qualified dog trainer and animal behaviourist, supporting clients in Bedfordshire. Remarkably, she managed to not only build her business but also gain her master's degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour, all whilst working in her ‘day job’ as a professor at UCL (yep, she’s a very impressive lady… but she’d never tell you that herself!).
The time had come for a new chapter in Julie’s life - for her work with animals and their caregivers to become her full time job. But, of course, in order for this to be financially viable in the long term, Julie knew that she would need a steady stream of clients to fill group classes, regular bookings for behaviour support and a business that was set up to run efficiently.
Fully committed to this new venture, Julie signed up for both my 1:1 coaching programme (Unleash Your Potential) and my bespoke brand and website service (Elevate Your Business).
Working together
We began our coaching sessions by unpicking exactly what Julie wanted from her newly re-vamped business and, in light of this, what aspects of her current business model would need to be tweaked. Then, with my support (and whilst making the most of the online resources included with Unleash Your Potential), Julie got to work on:
defining her ideal clients (using my ‘client clarity’ method)
creating her service suite (applying my ‘irresistible offers’ formula)
determining her ‘perfectly profitable pricing’ strategy (using my calculator tool which Julie says ‘saved her an enormous headache’!)
writing her website copy (following my proven process, now formalised in my online course, ‘How To Write Your Website’, which is included)
Meanwhile, working with my design team, I was busy developing Julie’s gorgeous new brand and website. Whilst Julie had felt that her previous website was OK, as soon as she saw glimpses of the new one in development, she could see how ‘dated and clunky’ her old site was (her words… not mine!) and couldn’t wait to get the new brand and website launched.
So, here it is…
Outcome
Julie’s beautiful new website was the perfect platform to support all of her hard work behind the scenes, updating her services, systems and pricing.
Wrapping up our time together, Julie said: ‘It’s been absolutely brilliant working with you. Throughout the entire coaching programme, you've literally thought of everything.’ She reflected ‘it’s genuinely improved all aspects of my animal behaviour and training business (both client facing and behind the scenes). You are worth more than your weight in gold, Gretta.’ Ah, thanks Julie!
But of course, whilst Julie was delighted, the real proof of the pudding is whether the changes would result in more client bookings and increased profits.
So, 4 months later, I asked Julie for an update. Here’s what she said:
‘Since launching the new website, the number of bookings has doubled, and this continues to increase.
I love my new branding and it’s clear others do too. I’ve received lots of lovely complements about how fantastic it all looks. Classy even! It really captures everything that I and my business are about.
Whilst I was anxious about increasing my prices, I trusted your knowledge and experience so went ahead and did it anyway. The clients who are booking are a really good fit with the services I offer and the way that I like to work. I need not have worried!
