You're working hard. You care deeply about your clients and your animals. You've invested seriously in your professional development. But something about the business just feels... off.
You never quite know where the next enquiry is coming from. Despite being ‘busy’, your bank balance doesn't seem to reflect it. You constantly feel like you’re ‘behind’ and playing a never-ending game of catch-up. And underneath all of it, there’s this nagging feeling that it just shouldn't be this hard.
You’ve probably found that the usual advice doesn't quite cut it: "Post more", "Niche down", "Raise your prices". Maybe you've tried some of it. Maybe it helped a bit… or for a while. But the sense that things aren’t sorted doesn't go away.

The problem is that the decisions that make sense at the beginning (the website you cobble together, the prices you set to ‘be competitive’, the services you offer because everyone else is and the processes that were ‘good enough for now’) aren't built to last… and nobody ever shows you how to go back and redesign them.
Over four short episodes, we'll work through the areas of marketing, pricing, services and systems… looking at where structural issues tend to get built in early and come back to bite later.
Plus, there’s a bonus episode: a real client story from someone who was in exactly this situation, did something about it and came out the other side with a business that she now describes as “finally fitting her life”.
I'm Gretta… an ABTC-registered Clinical Animal Behaviourist + Dog Trainer turned business nerd.
I've been working with ethical dog trainers, behaviourists and animal professionals for several years, helping them build businesses that actually hold up in real life. Before that, I spent years in marketing, sales, teaching and school leadership… and have built multiple successful businesses of my own in this industry.
I’m here because I hate to watch brilliant, deeply ethical professionals struggle with the business side of things. This series exists because I’ve seen time and time again that structural issues underpin many of their struggles... the good news is that structural problems can actually be fixed!
