I’m Gretta - a Clinical Animal Behaviourist and Dog Trainer, turned business nerd
For a long time, I never thought of myself as a business-type of person. Maybe you’re the same.
Before spending a decade in teaching, I somehow (don’t ask me how!) ended up in sales and marketing roles straight out of uni. Whilst I learned a lot, one thing was clear: I hated selling. Or more accurately, I hated being told how to do it.
As an introvert who values authenticity and transparency, the pushy approach made me cringe. So, I did things my own way: keeping the ‘good’ bits and ditching the rest. To my surprise, it worked… really well.
Years later, when I entered the world of dog training and behaviour, I saw incredible skilled professionals burning out, undercharging and struggling to make ends meet. Meanwhile, I could barely keep up with demand, despite being the most expensive option around.
When colleagues asked for advice, I realised that I could use my skills to help more people… and, in turn, the animals they support.

No… and anyone who says they can isn’t being honest with you. Just like in dog training and animal behaviour, results depend on many factors, including your own consistency and commitment.

Nope!
You can run a successful, profitable business without constantly posting on social media.
Of course, social media can be useful and I’ll help you use it strategically if you want to.
But you won’t find me recommending an exhausting ‘post every day’ approach or suggesting that you spend hours dancing on reels to chase an ever-changing algorithm.

Not really but you will need to be comfortable with:
accessing an online learning platform
downloading and using google docs/ sheets (you can convert them into word docs and excel spreadsheets if you prefer)
making changes to your website (or getting someone else to do that for you)
accessing your business numbers (e.g. income, number of bookings etc.)

Not at all… but, through the programme, you’ll be supported to understand, gather and monitor the important numbers in your business (income, profit, website visitors etc.) because this will help you to make your business better.
You’ll be asked for some key business metrics when you first sign up, in order for us to get a baseline. Then, you’ll be asked to submit monthly data going forwards so that we can monitor your progress. I’ll do some calculations and present your monthly progress to you in a visual dashboard, so that you can see everything at a glance.

This can still be a good fit for you and there are some case studies here from some people who were in your situation. However, you do need to have already worked with at least a few clients so we’ve got real-world feedback to build from.
It’s also worth being mindful of what to expect…
When enquiries are patchy, it’s totally understandable to want to reach straight for visibility but this programme strengthens the foundations underneath it first.
So, in these cases, initial progress often looks like clarity, confidence, stronger messaging, better-fit services, aligned pricing and a proper plan… not a sudden flood of bookings.Then, we’ll focus on increasing your visibility to get more consistent enquiries and bookings.
